Ducati 851 Fault Codes

Ducati 851 motorcycles have engines, which are made up of many different parts. These parts must work together in order for the engine to function. A problem with one of the parts can make the engine not run. There are many different parts that make up an engine. The following ducati 851 faults are the list of some of the parts of a motorcycle engine.

The fault codes are essential to the Ducati 851 motorcycle operation, as they create the spark that ignites the mixture of air and fuel in the engine. Check to see that the spark plugs are not soiled with carbon. As a result, the spark plugs will provide a much weaker spark. The most common cause of soiled spark plugs is the improper installation of an air filter. The air filter prevents dirt from getting into the engine, but a faulty air filter will allow dirt to enter the carburetor.

Ducati 851 Faults :

Engine management systems of Ducati 851 are responsible for monitoring a range of features and its warning light should go out a few seconds after ignition. The system's main job is to keep the engine running at peak performance by monitoring many parameters like coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level and air/fuel ratio. The system monitors these parameters continuously and alerts the driver if any of these parameters fall outside the predetermined limits.

Error indication

The instrument panel manages error warnings in order to allow the rider to identify any abnormal vehicle behaviour in real time. Upon Key-On, if there are errors the instrument panel displays the indication of the present errors and turns on the EOBD light. During vehicle normal operation, any time an error warning is activated, the instrument panel automatically displays the error indication and turns on the EOBD light. When an error is triggered, the indication remains well visible for 5 seconds ('large' icon) then becomes smaller ('small' icon). If several errors are present, the corresponding icons will be displayed one after the other and every one will stay on for 3 seconds. When an errors triggered the EOBD light turns on as well.

Issues with the engine are typically caused by issues with the engine parts. Whether it is a fuel issue or an ignition problem, the engine parts should be inspected to determine the cause. Another issue that can occur is when the Ducati 851 motorcycle engine is not working is a failure of the electrical system. This can cause the motorcycle to stall and not work correctly. The electrical system is typically the most complex system on a motorcycle.

As mentioned above, if you are not comfortable with electrical diagnostic work, a dealership or qualified technician can offer assistance. Please keep in mind that even though you have the ability to clear a DTC using the onboard diagnostic feature, you shouldn't clear the code prior to your service appointment. Let the technician view and clear the codes as they troubleshoot the issue.
